Opus Dance Collective

Created and founded by sought-after choreographer Ashley Schofield, Opus Dance Collective is a contemporary dance company from southern Ontario, Canada. Their focus is to create visually captivating choreographic work for industry events, corporate companies, organizations, and productions of their own. Although the core dancers of Opus Dance Collective can agree that their first official performance was in July of 2015, many of the dancers have been training with Ashley for a number of years.

Ideation Creative Space

A multi-purpose space for those looking to create work in a professional environment; it is open to dancers, photographers, videographers, yogis and art enthusiasts alike. This rare rental space also houses public workshops, choreography, private dance coaching & dance companies. The beautiful studio room also has an abundance of natural light, along with various lighting options to suit your needs.

Ashley Schofield is a Toronto-based choreographer, teacher, and the founder and director of Opus Dance Collective, a contemporary company for pre-professional and professional dancers. Her work with Opus has been showcased at the prestigious Capezio ACE Awards in both New York and Los Angeles, and the company continues to train and perform across Canada and the United States.

Ashley’s choreography has reached international audiences through features such as NBC’s World of Dance (Season 2), produced by Jennifer Lopez, and a special presentation at the APAP Conference in New York City. With Opus, she has produced two full-length Toronto shows—Volume 1: FORE/word and Volume 2: The Introduction—as well as a series of digital concept pieces where she served as choreographer, director, stylist, and producer.

Her work has also been presented on stages including the YAGP Finals, The Dance Awards, Lululemon, and Global News Morning Show, and she was commissioned to create the opening number for Toronto Kids Fashion Week. Ashley has contributed choreography for charitable events, fundraisers, and commercial projects, earning recognition for her creativity and artistry at both national and international levels.

She is proud to have set choreography for World Performers Canada, representing Canada at the Dance World Cup in Europe, and to have been invited to industry showcases such as Fever After Dark, Toronto Choreographer’s Ball, and Hit The Floor’s All-Star Showcase. Expanding her artistic reach, she recently provided movement direction and set choreography for The Ugly Chickens, a short film directed by Mark Raso and produced by George R.R. Martin.

Ashley holds certifications as an ADAPT and PBT teacher and is also a certified Intimacy Coordinator for television and film sets.
